Frequently asked questions

When will my tubers be shipped? Shipping begins in March, going throughout April.

Can I get an earlier shipping date, or have my order shipped on a specific date? Unfortunately, no.

What carrier do you use for shipping? USPS.

How much do you charge for shipping? $15.00, regardless of size.

Will you combine shipping? Probably. As long as your order hasn’t yet shipped, you’ve paid for shipping on your first order, and it’ll be going to the exact same person, at the exact same address as your prior order, sure! Just choose the Local Pickup option on your second or later orders, and I’ll combine them.

Do you ship outside of the U.S.? Not at this time.

Are you licensed to grow/ship/sell? Yes! I’m licensed and inspected by the Oregon Department of Agriculture, as well as registered as an LLC.

What are your sanitation practices? I wash my cutting tools in a bleach solution in between each plant/clump. I never cut without sanitizing first, and I don’t allow others to cut in my garden. I cull plants showing virus symptoms, even if it breaks my heart each and every time. I also store varieties separately during the winter, and bag them separately during shipping.

Do you guarantee against virus? No. While I do try my best to sell only happy healthy tubers, and will never sell any I believe to have a virus or problem of any sort, the prevalence of virus in dahlias is much too high for me to possibly guarantee against such.

If I have a problem with my order, how soon should I contact you? Right away! Once you receive your order, please open in and inspect all of your tubers immediately. If you have a problem with any of them, notify me, so I can try to make things right. As I can’t control what is done with them, or how they are stored or treated once they are out of my hands, I only guarantee them for up to one week after delivery.

Do you have big fat tubers? No. All of my plants are grown in pots, and don’t usually have big chonker tubers. Occasionally there will be some impressive ones, but they usually aren’t.

Why does every item on your site say SOLD OUT? I only sell for a very short period each year. My sale usually lasts from a few days, to a few weeks. If everything says sold out. I’m not actively selling. I usually hold my sale in late January, though I’m quite behind this year, so it may creep even later. Please do sign up for emails if you’d like to be notified when it’ll be happening.

Do you send lots of email? Nope. Truth be told, I don’t even like checking email, and enjoy sending them even less. I send very few each year, all shortly before and during sale time.

Should I panic if I don’t get an immediate response to an email/message? Also, no. Please understand, it’s just me, with a family and full time job outside of all of this. Checking email isn’t my highest priority.
